R.E.A.L. Social Workers Online Magazine is as much about the uniqueness of individuals as it is about the commonalities that brought each of us to the profession of social work. It is a place where social workers Relax, Empower, Advocate and Learn. It is also a place where we share R.E.A.L. stories and R.E.A.L. solutions to the struggles social workers face on a day to day basis.
I know the struggles social workers experience at work, at home, and within themselves. I have struggled to build a career that is successful and satisfying. I have struggled to juggle work and family. I have also struggled with making ends meet. Through it all, I have learned valuable lessons and developed strategies to maintain the course towards the vision I have outlined for my personal and professional life.
The ultimate outcome of this work is to empower social workers to comfortably walk in and exemplify:
Readiness: prepared for your unique life journey by having a clear personal/professional vision
Excellence: expecting, receiving and providing quality interactions that meet your needs and the needs of those around you
Authenticity: Being and allowing others to experience and benefit from your R.E.A.L. self
Liberation: Freedom to be true to yourself and to achieve success and satisfaction in your personal and professional life.
This is the my purpose and the reason for R.E.A.L. Social Workers Online Magazine.
