If you have ever had surgery or a procedure that required sedation, I am sure you recognize this countdown. I do not know anyone who has counted past 98. For some it takes more than a countdown or counting sheep to fall asleep quickly. The third step in the R.E.S.T System of Stress Relief is “Sleep.” Sleep is a vital part of stress relief. A well rested body is able to handle physical and mental stressors better. The mind thinks more clearly and processes information more efficiently when the body is well rested.
